Welcome to the web site of St. Peter's Catholic Community in Hinckley.
We have the honour of being the oldest parish in the Diocese of Nottingham. The parish dates from 1759 when Fr. Thomas Norton OP came to Hinckley from Leuven (Louvain) in Belgium.

Loving Father , in service of the truth, our community was formed 260 years ago.
In service of the truth, who is your Son, Jesus Christ,
You have called us ever since to live and work here as your family.
We commemorate with gratitude the beginning of our community
and the loving witness of all those who have worked to sustain
and develop it over the years;
We celebrate with joy all that you have ever given us
in our community life today;
We promise with sincerity to continue to proclaim
the Good News of your Son, to live in his way, devoting ourselves anew
to regular prayer, the relief of suffering everywhere,
and the service of You and each other.
We make these prayers through Him,
who is the Way, the Truth and the Life,
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
